Question 1: What are the main benefits of
purchasing the book?
In this series, we will be
handling them one by one.
*One of the main benefits of purchasing this book is that
you will learn more about the various multifaceted threats that infectious
diseases pose to you and your family.
Infectious diseases are
estimated to cause more 25 % of all deaths around the world. A number of
infectious disease outbreaks over the past decade, such as H5N1 avian
influenza, and severe acute respiratory syndrome [SARS], have heightened
concerns about how infectious diseases might threaten global security.
Most
recently, the emergence of the influenza A H1N1 has demonstrated the threat
that infectious diseases pose. It is important to note that 75 % of diseases
that have emerged over the past decade have originated from animals.
‘As a result, effective
responses to the growing threat of infectious diseases requires a
multidisciplinary approach that brings together stakeholders from a variety of
sectors, including agricultural and animal health.

DeleteLevels of several important green house gases have increased by about 25% since large scale industrialization began about 150 years ago. Green house gases absorb infrared radiation and trap the heat in the atmosphere, thus making the surface of the earth warmer. During the past twenty years, about three quarters of human-made carbon dioxide emissions were from burning fossil fuels.
ReplyDeleteThese changes, results in a rapidly changing world climate and a global increase in extreme weather conditions, which include very violent hurricanes and cyclones. Extensive pollution of the atmosphere is causing hundreds of thousands of fatalities, forest die-back, and water pollution through acid rain.
